How often should you post on your Google Business Profile?

There is no magic number. I'm not aware of a posting frequency that Google requires or guarantees results for, and nobody outside Google can promise that posting more will raise your ranking.

What is known

  • Google's help says posts older than 6 months are archived unless the post has a date range. Offer and event posts have dates built in.
  • Posts show customers up-to-date information on your listing.

A rhythm you can keep

This is a suggestion, not a rule. Pick a schedule you will actually follow, because a profile with a post every few weeks beats one with five posts in a week and then nothing.

  • Slow business: one post a month, tied to a season, an offer or a change in hours.
  • Busy business: one post every two weeks, rotating update, offer and event.
  • Anything time-sensitive: post as soon as it applies, for example holiday hours.

Make it easy
